DJ Tips on Equipment

A Beginners Guide To Deejay Equipment

It's funny how at school both my kids picked up being musical through playing the ukulele and then my youngest really got the bug and began taking off as quite a star performer, not just with the uke but by singing. When he turned fifteen I got him the best birthday present ever because not only did he just love it but he developed confidence from it - and he still actually makes money from it! So from getting his Karaoke DJ set of equipment for beginners - which he got the hang of in a weekend - I've had to survive driving him all over the place to endless parties. But that was only the start for his career as a DJ.

I think the whole DJ business is like a bug for him because having started out with a basic Karaoke Amplifier 400W, a pair of Passive Speakers with cable and a Dynamic Multipurpose Microphone, he's realised the whole potential for getting out there to friends' parties with some more equipment lead to a professional DJ career. He knows he's got to find out more about the needs, particularly the vast collection of both CD and vinyl needed but he's already well past the beginners stage and he hasn't yet turned sixteen. It's amazing. I knew he is special when he got his mp3 sounds going through the Karaoke speakers, don't ask me how. In fact it's fantastic how he's focusing hard and learning so fast and become more and more outgoing along the way.

What we both hope will happen next is that he makes enough money through his school friends funding him for his Karaoke parties that he'll be able to afford to buy more and more DJ equipment, not just for beginners because he wants it to last obviously. Unfortunately he's had to invest lots in CDs and talks about going vinyl as well but for now CDs is his main choice for playing. So he needs DJ CD decks - nope, it's not any old CD player, oh no, this budding DJ has got his eye on the new generation of CD decks in the Pioneer CDJ range. Obviously this could all get to be quite expensive, and not your average DJ equipment for beginners. But I wonder if it will end up with me getting a new set of wheels to take him about. Now that's expensive - crowd funding next thing, let me see ...!
